BFI Spotlight Peterborough

The Gateway Film Festival has been proud to deliver the BFI Spotlight programme in Peterborough in partnership with Film Hub South East.

Working alongside community organisations across the city, Spotlight explored how film can bring people together in new ways, taking cinema beyond traditional venues and supporting partners to develop film activity rooted in their own communities.

From screenings in parks, libraries and community gardens to churches, museums and community spaces, Spotlight has demonstrated the power of film to create conversation, strengthen partnerships and connect people through shared cultural experiences.​

Both the case study and animation are designed by Paper Rhino.

Our case study reflects on three years of delivery, sharing the partnerships, projects and learning that shaped Spotlight in Peterborough. Although the Spotlight programme has now come to an end, its legacy continues through the relationships it has created and the establishment of the Peterborough Film Network.
